About the Owner

Lisa Wells is orignally from Southern California. While in California she in worked the legal industry for 26 years while raising 3 children. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Lisa was a frequent visitor to Bed and Breakfast establishments. In the early 2000s she decided that she wanted to run her own bed and breakfast.

In 2004 she left California and emigrated to Eastern Ontario to start her own bed and breakfast. She purchased property in the town of Gananoque and went through extensive renovations on the property to make it ready for its first season in May 2005. In 2011, Lisa did further renovations to the property so that a third floor suite may be open to customers.

Ever since Lisa opened her doors to her Bed and Breakfast, her business has been thriving. Lisa runs the Bed and Breakfast single handedly and personally cooks her guests a fresh breakfast in the early mornings. She buys all of her ingredients fresh from local farms and stores.

During her free time, Lisa has worked at the Children's Aid Society, volunteered time on the Town of Gananoque's Downtown Revitalization Committee, and has been highly involved with the Chamber of Commerce. She has also chaired and sat on the Chamber's Human Resources, Events, and Visitor's Guide Committees. Lisa enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially with her three grown kids and two infant grandchildren.

About the Inn

The Islandview Inn is an old Victorian Style home originally erected in the late 1800s. The Inn sets adjacent to the St Lawrence River. The property has served many purposes over the years and now serves as a Bed and Breakfast. The Bed is Breakfast is run by its owner, Lisa Wells.

When Lisa purchased the home in 2004, the property housed several actors for the town's playhouse. Lisa renovated the dining areas and second story living areas so that it may become a bed and breakfast. Due to the success of the business, Lisa decided to renovate the property again in 2011 in order to further improve the second story living areas and to open up the third floor suite to her customers.

Since the opening of the Islandview Inn in 2005, Lisa's customers have and continue to enjoy their stays at the Bed and Breakfast.
